Randy VanVooren (AKA to us as Big Daddy) was named "Songwriter of the Year" in the Songwriters of Wisconsin International! We have been told that he won first place for several of his songs as well. Woohoo Randy!

Steve Calif has written two songs, including the title track on the recently released Jimmie Vaughan / Omar Kent Dykes CD entitled "Jimmy Reed Highway" - a tribute to Jimmy Reed. It debuted at #6 on the Billboard Blues Chart.

Last Saturday after a feature on NPR's Weekend Edition, the CD went to #5 overall and #1 Blues at Amazon.com.

The CD features Grammy Award winners Kim Wilson (Fabulous Thunderbirds), James Cotton (Muddy Waters), and Delbert McClinton, along with Lou Ann Barton and many more great artists.

Austin City Limits (PBS) will air nationally "Jimmie Vaughan and Friends on the Jimmy Reed Highway" the week of October 27th. The show closes with everyone playing Steve's song, "Jimmy Reed Highway".

The song as also been getting some radio airplay nationally and internationally.
